Birba Sofa is a practical upholstered daybed with second trundle bed perfect for a kids bedroom or a guest bedroom. Available in several layouts, it can also be equipped with back or roll cushions. Birba is a great space-saving solution as it turns from a 2-seater sofa to a single bed in an instant while at the same time taking up very little space: armrests are extremely thin or rounded and if you need to save even more space you can opt for the version without armrests which is also suitable for a position below bridge units.The storage box or big drawers grant the extra space for cushions, blankets, linen or toys and the second trundle bed is a good option to always have an extra sleeping space if you have guests or for your kids' friends.The cover is removable and available in a wide selection of fabrics or faux leathers to meet all needs.

Technical Specifications and EquipmentArmrests, back and bed-frame: pine plywood panels, 22 mm thick. The wood is water-treated and sanded. The wood is visible in the inside and this avoid the parts to hold powder, mites and at the same time to show the prime material used. The external is covered in high density expanded foam which has been moulded and then covered with an interliner.Structure: the panels building the bed-frame, armrests and back are assembled on a metal bearing frame.Main slatted base and pull-out trundle base: orthopaedic with steam bent beech plywood slats 38 x 8 mm assembled on anatomic supports. The metal frame is painted with non toxic powders. The manual trundle base must be lift it up by hand and it is recommended for an occasional use; the automatic trundle base is recommended for an everyday use of the second bed since it's very easy to use and open thanks to its equipped gas-based pistons. If you use a h.20/21 cm mattress for the main bed you can place the manual trundle base next to it and obtain a double bed.Upholstered mattress cover: available in fabric or faux leather, polyester padding.
Mattresses:Main bedOrthopaedic: Bonnel orthopaedic sprung mattress in steel wire. Not removable cover with transpiring tri-space central band. Padding with summer side in cotton layer and winter side in pure new wool. Mattress height: 20 cm. It is possible to remove the mattress and choose another one with measurements as per configuration menu or you can have a look at our Mattresses department.This mattress is not suitable for an export to the United Kingdom. For a mattress compliant with British Standards view our Igni Spring model.Trundle bedStandard: the mattress for the trundle bed is made up of a rigid felt sheet plus 184 tempered steel springs, linked through a tempered steel spiral, 1,3 mm diameter. The padding is made of cotton blend 500 gr/m². The external cover is made of cotton with a diamond-shaped pattern, the perimetral bands are embroidered in cotton on a 21 Kg/m³ dense resin support, 1 cm thick. For deliveries to the UK a surcharge will be applied.
